1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
4 cloves minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon five spice powder
1/4 cup ketchup or barbeque sauce
1 teaspoon Sesame seeds
1 teaspoon Sesame seeds
1 tablespoon Coriander/cilantro leaves
1 teaspoon Finely sliced fresh chili

Chicken wings are popular around the globe, and made with different styles, the western style with the famous buffalo chicken wings recipe, which is widely known as a takeout in fast food chains, and the Asian style which is super tasty, and less spicy compared to the buffalo chicken wings style, the Chinese chicken wings are more sweet, with a fine mix of the famous Chinese sauces taste, soy, hoisin and oyster sauce, packed with protein and delivers a full macronutrients for your meal, we made it with healthier ingredients, and baked instead of deep fried for less calories and fats.

 

Recipe Tips
1- It is better to keep the marinating time low, 1 hour at most because the salt in the marinade will dry the chicken wings by extracting the most out of the meat.  Also, the marinade will become watery making it harder to stick to the wings.
2-You can cover your baking tray with the ungreased sheet to prevent sticking and to reduce the fats while the chicken wings are being baked.

1- Chicken wings are good sources of Protein as one Chicken wing delivers 5-9 grams of protein.
2- Chicken wings are relatively high in fats, especially the saturated fats so consume it in moderation
3- the skin of the chicken wings are full of cholesterol, so it’s better for your health if you discarded the skins, and eat in moderation if not discarded
4- the baking process is much healthier and preferred over deep frying, as it Yields less grease and less calories per piece.
5- Homemade marinate is preferred over the commercial options, as the processed marinates includes a significant amount of sodium, and high in calories, so go with the natural options.

In a cup, mix the sauce ingredients ( lemon juice, soy, hoisin, oyster, ketchup, brown sugar, five spices, garlic, ginger) and whisk until it gets mixed well.

In a large mixing bowl, place the clean chicken wings, and pour the sauce mix into the bowl, and keep the wings to get marinated for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 180C/350F

Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer on a baking tray. Bake at 450° for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden appearance, and the meat should be able to be pulled off the bones easily

Brush the chicken wings halfway with the marinate leftover.

Sprinkle with garnishes (sesame seeds, coriander, sliced fresh chili).
